Rangers boost as key Hearts player ruled out of Tynecastle clash

In a boost for Rangers, a key Hearts player has been ruled out of the upcoming Premiership clash between the two sides at Tynecastle.

The Gers are taking on the Jambos in the capital in Sunday’s early kick-off and will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the table, with injury-ravaged Celtic not taking on Motherwell until later in the afternoon.

Only around 1000 Bears will be inside the ground after Hearts significantly reduced the usual away allocation in an attempt to maximise home advantage, but Rangers still issued a firm warning to travelling supporters ahead of the game.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst will be without Ryan Jack, while Kemar Roofe is a doubt and there’s a relative lack of options in defence.

However, Robbie Neilson doesn’t have a full squad at his disposal either.

The 23-year-old joined Hearts in the summer from Everton and was a revelation during the early stages of the season, even earning praise from Rangers fans.

However, he’s missed the Jambos’ last two matches with a knee injury and Neilson has confirmed that after suffering a setback, he’s set to be out “for another few weeks.”

Baningime’s technical quality in the middle of the park was key to Hearts’ excellent form in the opening months of the campaign and it’s a significant boost for the Gers that he’s set to miss out.

Here’s our Rangers Predicted XI for the game.
