Ahead of Rangers vs Hearts at Tynecastle on Sunday, we’ve put together a Gers Predicted XI that features changes galore.
Gio van Bronckhorst’s 100% record as Rangers manager is no longer intact after a 1-1 draw at Lyon in the Europa League on Thursday.
However, he remains unbeaten as Gers boss and he emerged victorious on his previous visit to Edinburgh earlier this month, with a late Kemar Roofe penalty securing all three points against Hibernian.
GvB may not have the Jamaica international to call upon in Gorgie as he’s been declared a doubt, while Ryan Jack is also set to miss out and there’s a relative shortage of options in defence.
Yet, he’ll still be confident that the side he fields will be too strong for the hosts.
After a number of fringe men came in for Thursday’s impressive performance in France, we’re expecting changes in goal, defence, midfield and attack in the capital.
Allan McGregor is likely to come back in for Jon McLaughlin between the sticks, while Nathan Patterson should drop out for James Tavernier.
Tav’s return will see Connor Goldson relinquish the armband, but he’ll continue at centre-back probably alongside Calvin Bassey, with Borna Barisic at left-back.
Glen Kamara is set to continue in midfield, but Steven Davis could replace John Lundstram for his first start since the win over Hibs.
Further upfield, player of the season so far Joe Aribo will come back in, probably for the goalscorer in Lyon, Scott Wright.
Alfredo Morelos will also return to lead the line, with Ryan Kent and Ianis Hagi likely providing the support from the flanks.
