A fresh report has emerged claiming that Rangers want to sign Liverpool youngster Herbie Kane on loan.
The the72 report also claims that Steven Gerrard is battling Hull City and Charlton for the player’s signature.
Imagine Lee Bowyer’s face if Rangers did him out of Kane as well as Aribo?
Kane, 20, spent last season on loan at Doncaster Rovers and was a stand-out as the side narrowly missed out on promotion from League One.
The midfielder played an impressive 49 times for Doncaster last season, scoring seven goals and laying on a further ten.
Both Steven Gerrard and Michael Beale are also said to be big fans of the creative, goalscoring midfielder.
At least that’s what former Doncaster Rovers boss Grant McCann told the Star after signing him last season.
“I spoke to Michael Beale and he is with Steven Gerrard at Rangers now and they love him,” said McCann.
“They’d take him tomorrow, that’s how good a player he is.
“Liverpool wouldn’t sell him, that’s the thing.”
So while there is an inference Rangers are interested, it appears the Ibrox club are now willing to take Kane on loan as opposed to buying him outright.
Could the talented Liverpool Academy player be the final signing of the window Gerrard alluded to [Daily Record]?
With so many options in a bloated midfield, on paper, it makes little sense.
