PSV Eindhoven may have been adamant that they aren’t selling any of their key players ahead of the Champions League shoot out on Wednesday, but they might not have a choice with Johan Bakayoko.

The transfer deadline is the 1st of September and clubs will be starting to panic about losing stars and having enough time to buy replacements.

This is where Rangers are in a good position but PSV Eindhoven face a dilemma with Johan Bakayoko the subject of a possible bid from Paris Saint Germain, according to Dutch journalist Rik Elfrink.

“According to sources around the player, Paris Saint-Germain now wants to pay 25 million euros for #Bakayoko . Not enough for PSV.

“But enough to take into account more and a possible departure. Hence the chess on various boards, including Lozano.”

The 21-year-old was one of Peter Bosz’s main tormentors at Ibrox and the Belgium international is a player in demand, £21.5m might be enough.

PSG aren’t the only big team to be linked with though with Liverpool and Napoli also said to be interested and Burnley said to have offered circa £17m.

Rangers play PSV Eindhoven on the 30th of August and the transfer deadline is just a couple of days later so the Dutch giants won’t have much time to identify their own players if they do decide to sell Johan Bakayoko.

Choosing to go against their own decision not to sell key players might be an ideal scenario but their top target, as reported by Italian media, Hirving Lozano, who, coincidentally,  plays for Napoli is also in demand.

A reported failed bid of £7m from PSV Eindhoven is still short of the Serie A champions’ valuation and selling Johan Bakayoko would allow them to get this deal done.

Lozano is a winger too and looks like PSV’s replacement for Bakayoko.

The biggest question is, when will the make their move and let Bakayoko go?
