A quartet of Premier League clubs are swirling around a young Scottish Premiership talent who has previously caught the eye of Rangers fans.

Whilst there have been no official links between Rangers and Hibs teenager Josh Doig, the youngster has stood out to Ibrox fans from the club’s meetings throughout the season.

Ahead of the visit of Hibs this weekend, the Scottish Sun is reporting that Leicester City are leading the charge for the 18-year-old left-back with Man City, Arsenal, and Leeds also interested.

Should either of the four clubs move for Doig they will likely need to stump up with the talented Easter Road kid signing a new contract until 2025 earlier in the season.

Doig has been a stand-out for Hibs in their chase for 3rd place this season after breaking through into Jack Ross’ side at the start of the campaign.

The left-back has already racked up 27 appearances for the Hibees, scoring once (in a 1-0 win over Dundee United in August) and assisting three goals.

Rangers fans aren’t the only ones who’ve noticed the progress of Doig either with Gers captain James Tavernier personally congratulating the defender for his performance in a 1-0 Rangers win over Hibs at Ibrox earlier in the season.

“Tavernier congratulated me after the game and said ‘well done’. I know how well he is doing this season,” said Doig [Edinburgh Live].

“He is a player I will study because of how good his delivery is and the number of chances he gets in front of goal.

“He is a great player to watch. He is absolutely flying.

“Before the game I was thinking ‘oh no it’s Tavernier what’s he going to do?’

“But I was happy I kept him out the game and not give him as many chances as he is used to.”

Doig isn’t the only Easter Road star who has caught the eye of the Rangers support with their progress this season either.

One of the Leith club’s most potent options is another talent who has had some Rangers fans demanding the club “pull out the stops” to sign him.
