Rangers fans are now 180 minutes away from being able to say that they survived the torture that was the 2024/25 season.

There is light at the end of the tunnel in the shape of the 49ers Enterprises takeover that could be completed in weeks, and the emergence of Davide Ancelotti as the possible next Rangers manager is also one to get excited about.

First up though is Dundee United who could, theoretically, still finish third, but who have conceded 10 goals in three games since the fixture split.

As always though, they will be right up for it at Ibrox and Barry Ferguson will want to see the second half performance against Aberdeen from the first whistle.

This is how Rangers should line up to finish the campaign with a win against Dundee Utd.

Predicted Rangers XI vs Dundee Utd

It looks like Ferguson was being economical with the truth when he said that Jack Butland would return to the starting XI before the end of the season.

Liam Kelly produced a couple of good saves against Aberdeen and, for all that he isn’t the future of the position, has shown that he can be a more than reliable back-up.

In defence, there is no point in changing anything other than to maybe give Neraysho Kasanwirjo a run out from the start and then bring James Tavernier off the bench.

Clinton Nsiala didn’t even make the bench against Aberdeen and it is pretty clear that Ferguson is reluctant to just give the younger players a consistent run in the team.

The midfield looked as controlled as it has for some time against Aberdeen and it would be a surprise to see any changes made.

Again, the first substitution in the engine room should be to give Bailey Rice half an hour, regardless of what the score is.

Hamza Igamane must start for Rangers

If the 4-0 over Aberdeen demonstrated anything, it’s that Hamza Igamane must start in his preferred position as a No.9.

It has also shown that Nedim Bajrami has had enough chances.

Rangers’ best run of form this season came when Danilo and Hamza Igamane were playing together, it’s not a secret.

The only alternative option should be to play Oscar Cortes off the left, seeing as he is the only natural winger in this position at the club.
