English League One outfit Portsmouth have won the race to loan Ross McCrorie, according to a fresh report.
The highly-rated Gers youngster, 21, was also linked with Shrewsbury Town [Scottish Sun] as Rangers look to give the player much-needed development minutes.
But it appears Portsmouth have won the race to sign the player, with the Daily Record claiming McCrorie is set to fly to the south coast to secure the deal today.

Any move will give Ross the opportunity to develop, much in the same vein Greg Docherty did last season.
Doc spent the season on-loan at League One Shrewsbury Town and really impressed. He even won a raft of awards at the club.
The same Daily Record report also claims that a deal is being held up by the former Premier League club’s demands to have an option to buy clause in the deal.
This is something which is very difficult to imagine given Steven Gerrard’s previous comments about the player.

Ross McCrorie made 30 appearances for Rangers last season but his chances will be limited by increased competition this campaign.
His twin brother Robby has also been sent out on loan this season. The highly-rated youth goalkeeper will play for Queen of the South in the Scottish Championship in the upcoming campaign.
