The 22-year-old forward is back at Argyle after spending – and impressing in – the first half of last season with the League One side.

Cutting inside on his left to channel prime Arjen Robben and lash the ball into the far corner, Morgan Whittaker inspired his Plymouth side to victory over Sunderland.

Rangers tried to sign winger
The long-range strike shows exactly why ex-Rangers manager Michael Beale wanted to bring Morgan Whittaker to Ibrox in January.
Reports at the time had suggested Rangers were ready to pay up to £2m to sign Morgan Whittaker, but this was rebuffed by the then Ibrox boss.
Whilst Beale admitted Rangers were interested in signing Whittaker, Swansea wanted to run the rule over the winger after recalling him from that successful loan stint with Plymouth.
Failing to get any proper first-team exposure under Russell Martin – who actually apologised to Rangers fans for Swansea refusing to play ball – the winger moved back to Argyle this season.

Young, English-trained, and with the clear ability to be a match-winner, we don’t suspect that £1m or even £2m will cut it should the Ibrox club come a’knocking now.
