Scottish football isn’t likely to restart until September with this season’s current league positions considered final, according to a journalist.
BBC Scotland journalist Gavin Wallace took to Twitter to claim that the league season will be abandoned due to the coronavirus with Celtic being crowned champions and Hearts being relegated.
Under the proposals, there will be no closed-door games due to insurance issues and Wallace also claims there will be no league cup next season.
Wallace claims that we should expect an announcement from the SFA on Monday, despite a larger Europe-wide UEFA meeting set to take place on Tuesday.
Should the SFA make this decision it is likely to upset Hearts with the Edinburgh club reportedly readying a legal defence to stave off relegation [Edinburgh Evening News].
Many Rangers fans also believe that the title cannot be awarded until it is earned with the Ibrox club having an outside chance of securing the trophy.

Reports yesterday claimed that one club has already told the SPFL that they want the season voided [BBC Scotland], but it is unclear how the remaining sides stand on the issue.
Ewan Wallace himself doesn’t agree with this suggestion, saying he believes the season should be voided as it is the “most fair way” to deal with an “unprecedented” situation.
The Scottish Premiership season was suspended on Friday 13th March as the coronavirus wreaks havoc across Europe.
