PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year Malik Tillman claims PSV Eindhoven’s attacking style of play was behind his switch to the Netherlands amid links to Rangers.
The USA international attacking midfielder has been announced at the Eredivisie side on a season-long loan deal with an option-to-buy, reportedly worth up to £13m.
Malik Tillman has also explained that a strong relationship with PSV Eindhoven manager Peter Bosz and sporting director Earnest Stewart convinced him on a deal.
“I have a good connection with Stewart and with Peter Bosz as well,” the new PSV number 10 told the club’s official website.
“That’s why I decided to come to Eindhoven. I like PSV’s attacking style of play and pressing high up on the pitch.
“My former teammate Mathijs de Ligt also spoke highly of PSV’s head coach and the club. The conditions here are excellent and Eindhoven is a great town.
“I am comfortable on the ball and like to get to the opposition’s box. There is no better feeling than scoring a goal, but I can also be proud of delivering an assist.
“I’m grateful to be handed the fabled number 10 shirt!”
Malik Tillman moves to PSV Eindhoven
Rangers had the player on loan at Ibrox last season where Malik Tillman actually impressed against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League Playoff, setting up Antonio Colak for the eventual winner in 3-2 aggregate victory.
Now, the Bayern talent could be lining up on the other side in a repeat of the Champions League playoff clash, with PSV Eindhoven likely to be lying in wait if Rangers can overcome Servette.
Rangers boss Michael Beale was clear heading into the new campaign that he wanted to make Malik Tillman’s move permanent, with the club initially holding a £5m option-to-buy.

However, this was ripped up Bayern in the summer, with Rangers compensated around £1m, and Malik Tillman has now been sent on loan to PSV Eindhoven.
A return to Ibrox will surely beckon for the 21-year-old if Rangers can overcome Servette in the second leg of Champions League QR3 and it adds an interesting subplot to any encounter.
