The exit of Rangers academy director Craig Mulholland comes amid some interesting comments from outgoing Colombian striker Juan Alegria.
Rangers confirmed the exit of Craig Mulholland on their official website this week, with the director set to leave the club after playing a “huge role” in developint the club’s high class youth set-up.

But prior to the exit of Craig Mulholland, there was sharp comments of discontent from Colombian striker Juan Alegria, who left the Ibrox side to return to FC Honka earlier this year.
Juan Alegria not pleased with Rangers treatment
The striker was less than impressed by how he was treated at Ibrox over his short stint at the club and pointed to one nameless individual as interrupting his short and largely unsuccessful period in Glasgow.
“When Rangers tried to sign me I had high expectations,” said Alegria.
“When you look at the situation or management from inside it is very tough and something I never knew about.
“I never felt as if Rangers had a plan for Juan and that cost time. I learned from the situation and it made me stronger as a person.
“I don’t regret the move to Rangers but if I had the option to join again I would like to be advised on how everything works inside the club before moving.
“I never knew what was happening from the start and there was no plan. They never told me anything about the situation and why I didn’t get the opportunity. When I joined Rangers I was playing first-team football in Finland and I was put into the B team – I thought I did well.
“The first time I asked Rangers if there was a possibility to go on loan. The second time they had an offer from Falkirk. When I came back from Falkirk, Rangers were very disrespectful.
“They never told me anything clear about the situation. Some people at Rangers made me feel as if I was never a part of the club and acted as if the move never happened. But these people don’t deserve a name.”
Whilst there’s certainly a case to suggest Juan Alegria, quite simply, wasn’t good enough for Rangers, the comments have shined a light on Rangers and Craig Mulholland in particular.
Craig Mulholland to leave Rangers
The former Gers youth boss has officially left the club after around 20 years at the Rangers Training Centre and he follows a spate of high-profile exits from the former regime.
Ibrox chairman Douglas Park – who overseen 55 and the Europa League Final run but also a domestic downturn in the last few years – will vacate the club to be replaced by John Bennett.
Managing director Stewart Robertson – who had been the subject of protests as Celtic prepare to secure a fifth treble in seven seasons – is also leaving come the end of the season.
Current director of commercial and marketing James Bisgrove is set to be his successor.
And then there is former sporting director Ross Wilson, who has joined Premier League Nottingham Forest despite leaving the Ibrox squad in something of a mess.
There had been some murmurs in the press that Craig Mulholland could join the ex-Rangers recruitment chief down south but those have yet to come to fruition.
