Kris Boyd has made his feelings on Philippe Clement clear in recent days.
The Rangers hero insists he was not one of those getting carried away when the team was performing slightly better and getting better results for a spell.
And his concerns have proved to be well-placed after the disappointments at St Mirren and Motherwell saw the gap to Celtic increase to 14 points.
Boyd has already warned Clement he faces the sack if he continues to let sports science advice guide his team selections.
Clement had insisted he would have been ‘stupid’ not to listen to the guidance.
That came after Vaclav Cerny and Hamza Igamane were dropped for Motherwell before coming on to rescue a point in the second half.
Clement himself was quizzed on whether he faces the sack but appeared unconcerned, insisting he will leave it up to the Gers board.
And the manager insists he still feels like he has the Rangers fan on his side.
However, Boyd isn’t so sure and fears the writing could be on the wall for the Belgian.

Boyd predicts Rangers ‘change’ is coming
Rangers have made a lot of changes off the pitch with Fraser Thornton appointed as the new chairman and Patrick Stewart coming in as CEO.
Boyd feels like the new men might now look to alter things on the football side.
He sees patience among the fan base having run out amid the woeful away form and reckons defeat to Celtic might just be the tipping point.
He told Sky Sports: “There is a lot of Rangers fans said ‘it’s time up already.’ They’re asking why Philippe Clement is still in charge.
“When you see what has went on in recent weeks, there is a lot of Rangers fans unhappy and rightly so.
“It’s the second of January tomorrow and 14 points at this stage of the season is a huge, huge gap. Considering they’ve only played each other once in the league.
“There has been a lot of change at Rangers but you get the feeling there is going to be change coming again.
“Patrick Stewart has come in with other people in the hieracrch. They’ve changed things behind the scenes but you can’t get away from football clubs function on the pitch and it has not been good enough.
“You can change everything behind the scenes and build from within but on the pitch it needs to be better and you kind of get the feeling that’s where it’s heading if Rangers aren’t to win this game.
“With two difficult away games coming up after this, Hibs and Dundee, Rangers’ away form is not good enough.
“You kind of get the feeling the Rangers board…it might have to be the football department they’re looking at next.”
What Boyd previously said on Clement and the sack
“Philippe Clement has two games to save his job as Rangers boss,” Boyd wrote in the Scottish Sun.
“Or he should have — IF the club is still operating to the standards I grew up with.
”Clement said the Boxing Day defeat at St Mirren was ‘unacceptable’.
”He was right — but so too is Rangers being 12 points behind Celtic after 17 games.
“If that gap grows to 15, or worse, this week then it has to be the end for Clement’s reign as boss.
”One TV camera panned to new Ibrox chief executive Patrick Stewart in the closing seconds at Paisley.
”We will soon find out what his remit is at Gers. And whether the club is serious about challenging Celts.
”Is Stewart simply there to balance the books, and be happy with the team finishing second to get a shot at the Champions League qualifiers?
”Or do Rangers still have ambitions to mount a serious challenge to Celtic?”
