Kemar Roofe played his most games in a season and was top goalscorer for Rangers when we won the league in 2020/21, that isn’t a coincidence.
The 30-year old striker has been plagued with injuries over the last two seasons, two goals in just 147 minutes last campaign a perfect illustration of his plight but the early signs are looking good for this year.
A pre-season training video has shown what Kemar Roofe can bring to Michael Beale’s Rangers but we all know what he needs to do.

A hip operation that ended 2022/23 before it even got off the ground isn’t quite the last chance saloon for the Jamaica international but it cenrtainly is for his hopes of a contract extension.
Can Kemar Roofe return to make Rangers impact
His quality has never been in doubt but Kemar Roofe just hasn’t been able to keep fit for Rangers since signing for a reported £4.5m.
Speaking last season, Michael Beale revealed how important the Gers number 25 could be for him:
“The way I have set the team up, I have left a big hole for Kemar to come back.
“I am optimistic about Kemar but the proof will be in the pudding.
“He has aims here and he is incredibly frustrated that he couldn’t impact us more.
“He feels if he is fit he can make a huge impact on how successful we are.“
His goal in training might not have been the hardest he will ever score but Roofe’s strength is in that type of goal, the type that Fashion Sakala or Alfredo Morelos either miss or are in the wrong place to score.

What benefits Kemar Roofe even more is that Beale is setting Rangers up with two strikers and he can play either of the roles, as the penalty box poacher or as the more mobile, goalscoring support.
Fingers crossed, this isn’t the last time we see him bursting the back of the net this season.
