Rangers star Kemar Roofe has posted an Instagram video back in the gym after hip surgery as the pressure grows on Ross Wilson to revamp an injury-plagued squad.

The former Leeds United and Anderlecht forward has been a constant sick-note for the majority of his time at Rangers but he is clearly determined to return from this latest problem.

Taking the snap inside the gym, Kemar Roofe posted a reel on his official Instagram account slowly working on a bike as he looks to come back stronger and fitter than ever at Ibrox.

But you’ll forgive Rangers fans for running out of patience with the forward, who has picked up a series of different injuries this season.

No room for Ross Wilson Kemar Roofe Rangers sentiment

This has been the worst season of injuries for Kemar Roofe to date, and it’s come at a terrible time for Rangers who have seen several players come down with long-term problems this campaign.

Kemar Roofe has been limited to only six appearances and 147 minutes in a bitterly disappointing season across the board at Ibrox.

Heading into the Scottish Cup clash with Raith Rovers, Rangers boss Michael Beale confirmed that Kemar Roofe would be out for the season, with the player himself confirming the hip operation on Instagram.

One of the club’s highest earners, and a reported £3.5m signing from Anderlecht in 2020, Kemar Roofe still has a year left on his contract and there are fears that the Ibrox club will get little more return on that investment.

It’s heaping the pressure on sporting director Ross Wilson, who is expected to reform this injury-ravaged squad in the summer with several players out of contract and others continuously off the pitch.

Whilst Rangers fans are empathetic of the situation with Kemar Roofe, if the club sees a repeat of this season’s injury fiasco heads will roll so with his job on the line Ross Wilson needs to get things right.

There can be no room for sentiment at Ibrox this summer and if Kemar Roofe is not in a position to deliver for Rangers next season, then it’s on Ross Wilson to plug the gap in the squad and reduce the wage bill.

If that means packaging a loan exit for Kemar Roofe, then so be it, but he quite simply cannot take up such an expensive and important spot in the squad without delivering for a second year on the bounce.

Meanwhile, Rangers fans are seeing flashes of the Todd Cantwell who was once valued at £50m.
