Rangers midfielder Greg Docherty might’ve been linked with a move to Hibernian [originally Scottish Sun], but the chances of the player moving there are so exceptionally slim.
And not just because the youngster has been on sparkling form for Shrewsbury Town. Very highly rated by the Shrews, Docherty has been in sublime form for the Shropshire club.
The former Hamilton midfielder has banged in ten goals and laid on eleven assists in 48 games down south. It’s an impressive haul.

There’s real hope the youngster can come back to Glasgow and have a real impact on Gerrard’s side. It is, after all, Docherty’s childhood dream. The committed 22-year-old will settle for nothing less [originally Evening Times].

But away from Doc’s superb form in League One, Rangers and Hibs aren’t exactly best pals. Away from the politics, an Alan Stubbs led Hibs denied Rangers Scott Allan.
Hibs prevented the bluenose from signing for the Ibrox club before the player eventually went on to sign for and stagnate at Celtic.
There are also question marks over how Hibs handled the transfer of Jason Cummings. He wound up a Nottingham Forest despite genuine interest from both player and Rangers over a move.

It’s not petty from Rangers. Over the years the club has happily dealt with other Scottish sides, Hibernian included. Hibs are the ones who’ve ringfenced players from Rangers. Hibs are the ones who’ve got the issue.
But if the Easter Road club’s supporters genuinely believe Rangers will part with one of their biggest talents in order to strengthen them, they’re deluded.
And not just because he is one of the club’s top prospects.
