Prominent journalist Gavin Berry is claiming that Rangers are resigned to losing Ryan Kent and are lining Sheyi Ojo up as a replacement.
In comments made to the Daily Record, the journalist didn’t decry the move. In fact, he actually claims that Ojo is higher-rated than Kent and it’s only reported interest from Aston Villa that’s scuppering Rangers’ interest.
Berry clearly feels that even if the Gers lose Kent, they’re gaining something in Ojo.

“Villa were linked with a £10million bid and once you start seeing those figures then Rangers are out of the running,” said Berry.
“It looks as if Rangers are resigned to losing him and Liverpool have said ‘you’re not getting him but by the way here’s another guy’.
“He is a Ryan Kent type that will get bums off seats, exciting fans.

“When you talk to people down south then Ojo is one they reckons could feature in the first team down there. He would be a good one to get and certainly to soften the blow of Ryan Kent.”
Rangers fans are desperate for the club to secure the tricky winger’s signature. But as Berry says, the decision may well be taken out of the Ibrox club’s hands.

Rangers have never been shy about talking about their interest in Kent. Kent too has never been shy about talking about his interest in Rangers.
But according to Berry, Sheyi Ojo looks set to replace Ryan Kent, Ryan Kent could well end up at Aston Villa [Scottish Sun], and all of it will end up ok for Rangers.
