Lee Wallace got an emotional send-off at Ibrox on Sunday, but now it looks like he’s set to move on to pastures new. And that might be at Dundee Utd.
The Tayside club are reportedly lining up a swoop for the former Rangers captain [originally Daily Record]. If they pulled it off, it’d probably be a major coup given they’re in the Championship.
But should they gain promotion it may be a move that interests Lee Wallace himself. The former Scotland international is still only 31 and will have a point to prove after the last few years at Ibrox.
Rangers and Dundee Utd haven’t exactly been the best of friends over the last few years. Away from a range of off-field issues, Dundee Utd fans gloated at Rangers’ financial implosion.
And in turn, Rangers fans have gloated at Dundee Utd’s tumultuous time in the Championship. As a result of the feud, some fans think Wallace can do better.

The former Hearts left-back joined Rangers in 2011 and famously stood by the club as it went into meltdown. It’s something that’s never been forgotten by the fans as Wallace’s time at Ibrox appears to be coming to an end.
The writing was on the wall for the player after an infamous bust-up involving then Gers boss Graeme Murty and former striker Kenny Miller.
Whilst the fans remain in the dark over what happened that day, it has since limited Wallace’s involvement in the side.
He’ll have a point to prove in Scotland and Dundee Utd could be an interesting prospect for the player. Even if Gers fans don’t want to see him in the tangerine of the Arabs.
