Rangers’ have decided to stick with the same two centre backs recently and it’s very much starting to click for Gerrard’s side.
Joe Worrall and Connor Goldson have both started the last five games together. In the last four the duo haven’t conceded a goal.
Whilst they have played the majority of the season, Gerrard has finally settled on the pairing without interuption. And the side are clearly benefitting from it.

The first match the duo played together was against Aberdeen. They conceded twice, granted one was a penalty after a clumsy Jon Flanagan challenge, but they coped well in the latter stages of the match.
Since then the duo have forged a strong partnership at the back for Rangers. Connor Goldson is certainly the more responsible of the two, and seems to be growing into that responsibility and developing as a player himself.
Joe Worrall has at times shown his ability, and reliability, but he can undoubtedly lack concentration.

Whilst he’s still developing, he has done well to bounce back from the Killie disappointment and his major error. Gerrard has proven some fans wrong by sticking with him.

Goldson and Worrall Gerrard’s choice for the run-in?

Goldson and Worrall could become central as we enter the final furlong of the season. They are growing with this run and consistency at centre back is already reaping rewards.
Whilst the forward line has taken the plaudits in the last two matches, it’s been built on a strong foundation.

Fans might’ve loved Alfredo Morelos hammering in four goals against Kilmarnock, but the Rugby Park side didn’t even register a shot on target that night.

In Katic and McAuley, we also have two capable deputies at centre back.
But in Worrall and Goldson the Gaffer appears to have settled on his favourite combination of the four centre backs. And it’s coming together very nicely as we enter the final phase of the season.
With Joe Worrall set to return to Nottingham Forest in the Summer, could Rangers move for this League One star?
