Rangers star James Tavernier’s exceptional form last season was always going to attract attention.
The flying right back hit 17 goals and created another 20 in his first season as Rangers captain, and also his best in a Rangers shirt.

A Football Insider report claims that Rangers are “inundated” with interest for the full-back. They claim teams from England, Italy and Spain are after the defender.

But in a message to Lee Wallace as the former captain left the club, did Tavernier hint that he has no plans to go anywhere?

Tavernier describes Rangers as “our club” in the touching message to Wallace. He even throws in a union jack emoji for extra staunchness, and praises Waldo’s loyalty.
The talented defender clearly relishes his role as Rangers captain, and you get the feeling he’s on a mission to add silverware to the club’s trophy cabinet.
Unless it’s an offer Rangers really can’t refuse, does this sound like the words of someone who’s in a rush to leave?
There is no doubt last season was James Tavernier’s best in at Ibrox so far. The step-up he took with the captain’s armband was visible, both in attack and defence, and at 27, he’s entering his prime.

To me, he is Rangers’ most valuable asset and our most important player. And I’m not the only one who thinks so [Kris Boyd – Sky Sports Transfer Talk].
And if the sounds coming from Tavernier suggest anything at all, it’s that he will be for a while to come.
