Up until a few weeks ago, very few Rangers fans will have heard of Charlton midfielder Joe Aribo.
But now the player is someone we’re keeping one eye on after reports suggested we’re interested in his services.
And with a contract running down at the Valley, it hasn’t stopped him concentrating on the job at hand. He was utterly sensational as Charlton came from behind to beat Sunderland in the Championship playoff final.

Despite his side going behind, Aribo was a driving force for Charlton. If any player on the day embodied that fight-back spirit, it was the 22-year-old midfielder.
Resilient, powerful and athletic, he was a real handful for the Sunderland midfield. Aribo also scored the winning penalty in the playoff semi-final. He’s been on great form.
And that’s probably why it’ll be a big ask to convince him to come to Rangers in the coming weeks.

What might give Rangers a leg up is the development fee clubs have to pay north of the border. English clubs could well need to shell out for the talented player. But nothing’s a given right now.
Has Aribo given us a taste of what’s to come with his performance at Wembley? Well, yes. But the thing is, not just specifically Rangers fans. He’s beginning to make a mark on the British game in general.
