Rangers and Celtic are battling it out for the signature of Charlton youngster Joe Aribo, according to goal.com.
The report also claims the likes of Premier League Southampton and Ligue 1 Rennes are interested in the 22-year-old. The Daily Mail claims Manchester City and Arsenal are also looking at the player.
The Charlton midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season and would cost either Old Firm club a nominal development fee.
Joe Aribo, who is valued at £180k by Transfermarkt, has had a superb season at the Valley. Charlton are currently locked in a promotion play-off and are looking to return to the Championship next season.
Aribo has been central to the club’s success this year. The attack-minded midfielder has 10 goals and five assists in 37 games this season, including one in their 2-1 playoff semi-final first leg win over Doncaster.
Joe Aribo has been at Charlton for the last four years, making 95 appearances for the Addicks. Now, it looks like Aribo has a big decision to make on his future come to the end of the season.
But there’s no doubt he will be fully focused on ensuring his current side can earn promotion this year.
And with so many clubs looking at Aribo, what does it say about the sparkling form of a Rangers loanee who spent last season in League One?
