Before the transfer window opened, the notion that Rangers would keep a hold of Alfredo Morelos would’ve seemed fantastical at best.
The Colombian striker’s 30 goals had reportedly attracted interest from down south and across the continent.
Goalscorers are footballs most valuable commodity and there’s little doubt Alfredo has that predatory instinct that so many teams are dying for.

But since the window has opened, we’ve seen and heard of little concerning the controversial striker.
The last link to the striker was from Premier League Newcastle, who continue to go through a proposed takeover. Any move is reportedly on ice [
Not that many Rangers fans will be complaining. For all of Alfredo’s disciplinary misgivings, he is our most raw and effective talent on his day.
A complete nightmare for defenders, Alfredo doesn’t shirk from combative battles and physical tussles. And he’s prone to absolutely lashing the ball into the back of the net too.
So why the lack of movement?
You get the feeling that the 22-year-old’s transfer stock dipped considerably in the wake of his clash with Scott Brown at Celtic Park last season.
In one of Rangers’ biggest games of the season, Morelos let the fans and his teammates down by foolishly biting on Brown’s bait.
The resultant four-game ban didn’t just see him miss a large chunk at the end of the season, it also saw him miss out on a place in Colombia’s Copa America team.

And it could yet also see him miss out on a big money move this summer. The club will want an eight-figure fee for the striker who is contracted to Ibrox until 2023.
Maybe Alfredo Morelos will have to prove that his petulant disciplinary problems are behind him before he gets his preferred big-money move [Daily Record].
And that’s not exactly a bad thing for Rangers.
