Glasgow City Council have granted Rangers a warrant for further developments at Ibrox as the club invests into bringing the iconic stadium up to standard.
The warrant concerns overcladding the underside of the roof structure to improve the aesthetic quality of the Copland Stand. You can view the warrant HERE.
This is the latest in a long line of developments at Ibrox aimed at bringing the club’s stadium up-to-scratch.

In order to fund this, the club launched the Rangers Pools. All of the profit from the pools will go into redeveloping the club’s stadium.
We have already seen this in action on the Broomloan Stand, with money from the Pools being used to replace unsightly panels on the stand. The council had also previously granted a warrant
for Rangers to update roof cladding of the same Stand.
The current regime has often been outspoken about the negligence of the previous board when it comes to the stadium. Ibrox has been left without due maintenance for too long.

This is about improving the spectacle of the stadium, cleaning it up, and modernising it. And it’s superb to see.
It’s not just about improving the building itself, but its surrounding area too. As part of that, there are plans to a special memorial garden remembering the victims of the Ibrox disaster.
