It looks set to be a big summer for 49ers Enterprises as they takeover at Rangers and Leeds United prepare for the Premier League.

The US consortium behind the San Francisco 49ers is set to take the reins at Rangers after several key players were given a guided tour of Ibrox Stadium.

But with Leeds United celebrating promotion to the Premier League, the 49ers’ ruthless streak has Daniel Farke’s head on the chopping block.

With the German’s future uncertain, there’s been whispers of a former Rangers manager taking the role at Elland Road.

As Giovanni van Bronckhorst is linked with Leeds United, the Ibrox legend certainly didn’t distance himself from the gig.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst admitted that he’s read about the rumours linking him to the Leeds United manager’s role.

With Daniel Farke still in situ, Van Bronckhorst wouldn’t be drawn on links to Elland Road but did admit that he has admiration for the Yorkshire outfit.

Van Bronckhorst also admitted that it would be nice to get back on the touchline after leaving Besiktas at the end of November 2024.

“Yes, I read about it,” Van Bronckhorst explained to Dutch TV, as quoted by the Daily Record. “But there’s nothing going on at the moment. Are Leeds a nice club? Definitely.

“I am enjoying life now, but I think it would be nice to be back on the pitch.”

Ronald de Boer backs ex-Rangers manager to awaken ‘sleeping giant’

Whilst Giovanni van Bronckhorst was tight-lipped about potentially moving to Leeds United, the former Rangers star has been tipped for the gig by Ronald de Boer.

Gio’s former Rangers teammate was working alongside the former Rangers manager and suggested that Leeds might be a good fit for his compatriot.

“We’ll see what happens, but I would think it would be a nice club for him,” said De Boer.

“Leeds is potentially a club that could become very big. I certainly think of them as a sleeping giant.”
