Ewen Cameron has made a Lamine Yamal joke after reading reports of Rangers’ interest in Lewis Ferguson.
Rangers have made contact to sign Ferguson, but the deal is at an early stage, with the finances being discussed.
The Light Blues already announced Dan Neil’s signing, but are understood to be keen on another midfielder, and have been linked with the Bologna captain.
What are your expectations for Dan Neil at Rangers next season?
The midfielder comes with leadership credentials at Sunderland…
Ewen Cameron believes Lamine Yamal to Hearts just as likely as Lewis Ferguson’s arrival at Ibrox
Cameron, the STV Football host, has made a bizarre statement that Hearts are as likely to sign Lamine Yamal as the Gers are to bring Lewis Ferguson to Ibrox.
In other words, he sees no chance for Rangers to reunite with their former youth prospect.
He does not see the Light Blues being able to shell out £17m to bring the Scotland international to Glasgow this summer.
If Lewis Ferguson joins post the World Cup, who should Derek McInnes name the Rangers captain?
This is assuming Nicolas Raskin leaves Rangers…
Cameron wrote on X: “Hearts have as good a chance at signing Lamine Yamal as Rangers have at signing Lewis Ferguson.
“Lewis will have his pick of clubs across Europe. Do you really think Rangers will spend £17 million for him? No chance
“It’s good to dream, though.”

Can Rangers realistically sign Ferguson?
Cameron seems to be scared by the prospect of what Rangers are looking to build this summer.
There has been a clear pattern of the kind of players the Light Blues are looking to sign, as they want to bring in leaders.
For years, there has been a clear lack of leadership at the club, and that has led to their lack of success on the pitch.

Ferguson can surely be afforded, especially if he’s being signed as a replacement for Nicolas Raskin.
Rangers want north of £20m for Raskin, and the Scotland international will be cheaper than that, which means the Gers will actually have money left to perhaps sign another player.
The Light Blues’ failure to sign Ferguson will not be due to finances, but the fact that he would not fancy a return to Scotland at this stage in his career.
Currently, he is considering his options, as there is interest from a number of European clubs as well.
