Rangers confirmed the arrival of Dan Neil on a free transfer on Wednesday, making him the club’s fifth signing of the summer.
Lawrence Shankland, Ross McCrorie, Ben Godfrey, and Ivor Pandur were all signed prior to the midfielder’s arrival at Ibrox.
The 24-year-old joined Rangers on a free transfer, signing a three-year contract, following the expiry of his deal at Sunderland.
What are your expectations for Dan Neil at Rangers next season?
The midfielder comes with leadership credentials at Sunderland…
Dan Neil likely to earn north of £30k/week at Ibrox
Neil was reportedly earning slightly above £30k per week at the Stadium of Light, and that is expected to be the case at Rangers as well.
The midfielder spent the second half of the season at Ipswich Town, and the then-Championship club covered his wages.
He played a key role in getting them promoted back to the Premier League, but they did not look to re-sign him on a free transfer.
Which pundit do Rangers fans dislike the most?
Some of them are terrible…
That opened the door for Rangers, with Neil prioritising regular game time, something that he is expected to get in Glasgow.
The Englishman would not have taken a pay cut at this stage in his career, so the Gers will likely be matching his wages at Sunderland.
There could also be bonuses included based on winning trophies or reaching milestones in European competitions in order to make things sweeter.

What role Jermain Defoe played in getting Neil to Rangers
Jermain Defoe has revealed that Neil called him recently, and before the midfielder even got to ask him the question, the former Gers man told him that he had to move to Ibrox.
The ex-Rangers striker and coach told the 24-year-old that a move to Glasgow had come at the right time in his career.
He also believes that the Light Blues have signed a very good player, who’s a good character and is also hard working.
Which Hearts player(s) would you like to see at Rangers next season?
Derek McInnes may be tempted to sign one or two this summer!
Defoe told Sky Sports: “Dan Neil called me the other day and asked if he could have two minutes of my time to speak about Rangers.
“And before he even spoke, I said: ‘Dan, you have got to go, honestly. You are a young player, and if you get a chance to go to Rangers at this stage of your career and play in front of some of the best fans I have experienced, you have to go. If you want a challenge, you have to go.’
“For Rangers, they are signing a top player. He is a good character who works hard.
“The demand up there is to run around, work hard, and give everything for that shirt. But you have to win as well.
“Good luck, my friend.”
