Out-of-favour Rangers midfielder Greg Docherty is a transfer target for League One Peterborough United, according to a local report down south.
Peterborough Today are claiming that Posh boss Darren Ferguson wants former Shrewsbury loanee Docherty in come January to bolster his central midfield options.
The former Hamilton youth proved last season that he could cut it in the English third tier, with a sterling campaign at Shrewbury rewarded by a host of individual rewards.

Such was the strength of Docherty’s campaign at New Meadow last season, there was real hope amongst the Rangers support that Doc could make the grade at Ibrox this season.
Despite featuring intermittently in the early part of the season, Docherty has since fallen out of favour at the Ibrox club.
The midfielder made five appearances in the early part of the season but hasn’t been seen with the first team since the 3-0 win over East Fife in Methil back in August.
With the likes of Ryan Jack, Glen Kamara, Steven Davis, Scott Arfield and Joe Aribo seemingly ahead of Docherty in the middle of the pitch, it was always going to be difficult for Docherty to breakthrough.

Couple that with club insider Four Lads Had a Dream saying numerous English sides watched Docherty score in a 3-0 bounce game win over a Leicester XI [Four Lads] and the signs appear ominous for the 23-year-old Rangers fan.
Signed from Hamilton for a reported £650k back in January 2018, you imagine Rangers will want to recoup close to that should Docherty move on.
