Rangers captain James Tavernier might’ve picked up the Union Bears Player of the Season Award, but it’s not the only lasting acknowledgement he’s received from the group this year.
The flying full-back is one of the club’s longest-serving players yet fans have never been able to agree on a song for the player.
Now, after awarding the player last night, the Union Bears have released a chant aimed at the Gers captain.

The chant goes:
He’s James Tavernier
Makes defenders fear
Running down the wing
Hear the Rangers sing
The catchy chant might be simple but it’s very effective and going by the fact the Union Bears have released it on Twitter suggests it’s here to stay.
That’s if club captain Tavernier stays at Ibrox. The Gers full-back is reportedly being tailed by three Premier League clubs [90mins.com] with Brighton said be readying a bid for the player.

The former Newcastle right-back is an immensely valuable asset to Rangers, even if he had a below-average game against Progres, and the club would do very well to replace him.
Signed from Wigan under Mark Warburton in 2015, Tavernier is now entering his fifth season as a Rangers player and remains a vital part of Steven Gerrard’s plans.
