Derek Cornelius has not played a single senior game for Rangers in 2026 and appears to have an uncertain future at Ibrox.
Rangers signed Cornelius on loan from Marseille in the summer, and he featured regularly in the first half of the season.
However, the Canada international suffered a serious injury in November and has not played another game since then.

Derek Cornelius given permission by Danny Rohl to join Canada squad
Danny Rohl confirmed that Cornelius will jet out of Scotland for Canada on Friday, joining his national team days before players officially leave for the international break.
This comes after claims were made that Cornelius had been banished from the Rangers first team, and it looked like an exit was certain for him without him playing another senior game.
However, Rohl poured cold water on those claims and stated that he will have a meeting with the 28-year-old when he’s back from representing his country.
While the centre-back has not played since his return from injury, the German confirmed that he has trained individually and personally.

The Gers boss is clear with what he wants from his players and discussions will be held in the coming weeks.
Relaying what Rohl said in the press conference, Chris Jack wrote on X: “Rohl says Derek Cornelius will travel today to join up with Canada.
“Will have a conversation when he comes back.
“Rohl says he is ‘very clear’ and ‘we will see which direction this goes’.
“Cornelius has trained with the first team and individually.”

Will Cornelius be a Rangers player next season?
Cornelius’ future now seems to be entirely down to him.
He has returned from an injury, but needs to work incredibly hard behind the scenes to stay fit and prove to Rohl he’s worth being selected for the first team.
The 28-year-old can also use the international break to prove to the manager that he can still compete against some of the top players in the world and that it would be in Rangers’ best interests to reintegrate him into the side.
Both John Souttar and Nasser Djiga have been unconvincing in recent weeks, and if Cornelius is to establish a good partnership with Emmanuel Fernandez and become a first-team regular, Rohl could ask the Gers board to keep him at the club beyond the summer.
