Daily Record’s Scott Burns has issued an update on Danny Rohl’s future ahead of the game between Celtic and Rangers.
Rohl is under pressure after the Light Blues suffered back-to-back defeats in the Scottish Premiership against Motherwell and Hearts.
Rangers next face Celtic, and even a win in the Old Firm derby is not likely to be enough for them to win the title.
Danny Rohl could leave amid links to RB Salzburg…
Who do you see replacing him?
Rangers to stick with Danny Rohl regardless of Celtic result
Scott Burns has claimed that no matter what happens against Celtic on Sunday, the Gers will be sticking with Rohl for next season.
This is in line with what Rangers News exclusively reported on 5 May, that the German holds the backing of the ownership.
While Rangers can afford to sack Rohl right away, there is no plan to do so, as he holds the backing of the rest of the board.
A loss against the Hoops would not be enough for the board to be convinced that the German is to be blamed for the problems at the club.
Even though the Gers are out of the title race, they would want to beat Celtic because of the local rivalry, as well as the fact that it would put them out of the title race.
Burns wrote: “No, my understanding is that regardless of what happens, Danny Rohl is expected to be the Rangers manager next season.”

If he goes, who would be a good replacement for him?
Why sacking Rohl is not what Rangers should be doing
While fans may feel hard done by, Rohl is not the person to blame for the club’s problems.
Even the owners, who took over a year ago, are not the primary cause of this current predicament.
After years of poor decision-making, the owners and Rohl have inherited a squad that does not deserve to win the title.
Rohl managed to get four players in the January transfer window, but he knows that it is equally important to get players out the door as well.
He knows what the expectations are, and even though he’s not being sacked now, it does not mean that he will not be a few months into the new season.
