Contrasting transfer fortunes at Rangers and Celtic could prove decisive

With the window open for over a week, there have been contrasting fortunes for both Old Firm sides. At least that’s what recent moves appear to prove.
There’s no way to really tell what’s going on behind the scenes at either Rangers or Celtic. But in the media, we’ve seen an interesting eight or nine days.
Rangers’ early business has been largely dominated with talk of four players.

Talks appear to be continuing over George Edmundson [Daily Record] and Ryan Kent [Daily Record], but Liverpool youngster Sheyi Ojo has signed on-loan and the permanent capture of Joe Aribo is reportedly not far away.
On Aribo, should the signing be completed Rangers will have dealt Celtic a considerable psychological blow going into the new season. Aribo was also a target for our rivals.
It’s part of a double blow for Celtic, who were left red-faced in their calamitous pursuit of David Turnbull.
The Motherwell youngster now looks set to move to Norwich after some very public negotiations on the part of Celtic.
This blow came after a transfer document outlining the Parkhead club’s targets was leaked to the press. It’s a bit all over the place at Parkhead.
In contrast to Celtic’s public bumbling, Rangers have quietly gone about their business.

The aforementioned four players join pre-contract signings Jordan Jones, Jake Hastie, Steven Davis and Greg Stewart. Players who can produce in the Scottish Premiership, and hopefully, beyond.

It’s still very early in the window and there are bound to be a few surprises to come, but Rangers seem to have it a little more together than Celtic.
And come the big kick-off, that could prove decisive going into the next Scottish Premiership campaign.
