Rangers target George Edmundson is said to be “keen” to join the Ibrox side, despite a bid from Portsmouth reportedly being accepted [Daily Record].
Rangers have reportedly twice had bids rejected for Edmundson, with the Daily Record claiming the most recent being only £100k under Oldham’s asking price.

The same report claims that Rangers could well launch a third bid. It also claims George Edmundson is set to consider his future over the weekend.
The 21-year-old centre back is highly rated, but only has a year remaining on his deal. Rangers clearly don’t want to pay over the odds for an English League Two player who they could get for nothing next season.
The Portsmouth bid is said to be £600k plus add-ons. Rangers will likely need to match this in order to bring Edmundson to Ibrox. The club’s last bid was reportedly £500k.

The good news for Rangers is that Edmundson is very interested in the move to Ibrox.
But will Rangers stump up that little bit extra to bring the player to the club?
The Ibrox side is in desperate need of defensive reinforcements after loanee Joe Worrall returned to Nottingham Forest and with Gareth McAuley’s contract set to expire.
