Rangers starting XI for their Champions League Third Qualifying Round first leg against Malmo has been confirmed [UEFA.com].
The Gers are taking on the Swedish champions at the Eleda Stadion and travelled to Malmo without several key players.
Leon Balogun, Glen Kamara and Kemar Roofe are all suspended, while Ryan Jack is yet to receive the all-clear to return to action following surgery and Alfredo Morelos is still self-isolating after returning from a short post-Copa America break.
However, Steven Gerrard has still been able to name a strong team, making a total of seven changes from Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Livingston in the Premiership.
Allan McGregor replaces Jon McLaughlin between the sticks as expected following his unconventional press conference performance on Monday morning.
In defence, James Tavernier and Connor Goldson retain their places, while Filip Helander replaces Balogun and Borna Barisic comes in for Calvin Bassey.
In midfield, Steven Davis keeps his spot, but John Lundstram and Scott Arfield come in for Kamara and Joe Aribo.
In attack, Ryan Kent continues on the left, with Scott Wright replacing Ianis Hagi and Cedric Itten leading the line in place of Fashion Sakala.
Will this team be strong enough to secure a positive result to take back to Ibrox?
Fans will be hoping a group of Malmo fans failed in their quest to disrupt the Rangers squad’s preparations in the early hours of the morning.
