Belgian side Club Brugge have “held talks” with Liverpool over a move for Rangers target Ryan Kent, according to Sky Sports.
The tricky winger has been a target for the Ibrox club all summer but any move has been stifled by Liverpool’s unwillingness to budge over a loan deal.
Rangers realistically cannot afford the reported £7m asking price to buy the player outright – but the Champions League millions of Club Brugge could supplement their deal.
Sky Sports also reiterates that Ryan Kent wants the move to Ibrox, as they did last week when they claimed Kent had his “heart set” [Sky Sports] on a deal.
Rangers too continued to show their eagerness over signing the player with Steven Gerrard saying he would “love” [Rangers] to have last season’s SPFA Young Player of the Season award.
However, he also explained that Liverpool’s stance hasn’t changed.
“Nothing’s changed on the Ryan Kent situation,” explains Gerrard.
“Again, we’d love to him here. Liverpool’s stance hasn’t changed on the Ryan Kent situation.
“We move on and we move forward unless we were to get a phone call on that situation, it’s as it was.

“Everyone knows what we think of Ryan Kent and how much we’d love to have him here.”
Could the biggest transfer saga of the season be about to end in bitter disappointment for Rangers fans?
