Your January 7 transfer window update. Rangers News delivers updates concerning Leon Belcar, Joel Gelhardt, Bamo Meite, Jonny Evans, Ben Davies and Cyriel Dessers.
Joe Gelhardt to leave Leeds
One Rangers target who does look set to leave his club in January is Leeds’ Joe Gelhardt.
It is being reported the striker will be allowed a loan exit from Elland Road with Portsmouth, QPR, Cardiff City, Derby County and Plymouth Argyle all interested.
Gelhardt was previously reported to be ‘enthusiastic’ about Rangers’ interest.

Leon Belcar staying put
Rangers were linked with Leon Belcar, a second Croatian midfielder after we exclusively revealed their interest in Marko Soldo.
But the 22-year-old has sent an emphatic message to Gers and other interested parties over his future, insisting he will be staying pit at Varazdin this month.
It’s believed he will actually sign a new deal with his club, with unconfirmed reports in Croatia suggesting pen has already been put to paper.
Bamo Meite to Rangers latest
Gers were said to be back in for Bamo Meite, the Marseille centre-back who was on the radar last summer before making his loan from Lorient permanent.
He was keen to move on in search of more games after barely playing this season.
However, Rangers’ plans may have been scuppered with Meite suffering a “serious” injury.
Clement rejects Jonny Evans
After Kris Boyd and Paul Robinson both suggested Jonny Evans, it seems a Rangers board member was on the same wavelength.
But Philippe Clement has reportedly rejected the suggestion due to the age of the 37-year-old.
Birmingham stance on Ben Davies
Rangers could really do with centre halves and have one out on loan in the shape of Ben Davies.
It’s not known whether the club would consider recalling the 29-year-old to ease their issues but it has emerged that Birmingham are keen on signing Davies permanently.
Cyriel Dessers latest
Saint-Ettienne’s interest in Cyriel Dessers was reported but then played down by their new manager Eirik Horneland.
However, it is now being claimed Dessers IS on their radar as the French side weigh up six potential targets.
