Steven Gerrard, Derek McInnes and Kevin Muscat are among the names linked with the Rangers job, with Danny Rohl on the verge of leaving Ibrox.
Rohl could be the RB Salzburg head coach in the coming days, leaving the Light Blues with the task of finding their third permanent manager in little over a year.
Rangers have a four-man shortlist ready to replace the German, but are yet to finalise the appointment as it would hinge on whether or not an agreement can be reached with the Austrian club.
Which of these three managers would you prefer at Rangers?
We believe Derek McInnes is the right man for the job…
Derek McInnes is the frontrunner to become the next Rangers manager
Hearts manager Derek McInnes is understood to be the favourite to replace Rohl at Ibrox, according to Hearts Standard.
The Gers are keen on sorting out their managerial situation as soon as possible, as the squad will be back for pre-season training next week.
Rohl himself has been on vacation, but developments surrounding his future have meant that he has needed to be called back to discuss a potential move to Austria.
What would your concerns be about Derek McInnes replacing Danny Rohl?
Thus far, Rangers have not made contact with Hearts, but the Scottish Premiership runners-up expect that to happen soon.
The 54-year-old has three more years left on his deal at the club as he penned a four-year contract when he joined them last summer.
This means that the Gers will have to pay decent money to buy him out of his contract.

Why did McInnes turn down a move to Ibrox in the past?
Back in 2017, McInnes was at Aberdeen, and that is when he was approached to take over the reins at Ibrox.
He did not want to destroy the legacy he had built at Pittodrie, as that would have happened had he moved to a rival.
What do you make of Vaclav Cerny returning to Ibrox?
Cerny's return makes Rangers favourites to win the title! 💪
Also, he was not too impressed with the indecisiveness of the Rangers’ board, so he felt that it was not the right move.
Things are a lot different at Ibrox today, and while there are still issues to sort out, the club is in a better place than it was back in 2017.
He also would want to take the step up in his career, having proved himself at other Scottish Premiership sides.
