Chris Sutton has been blown away by what he has heard a well-connected Rangers man say about Nicolas Raskin leaving.

Raskin is being linked with a move away from Ibrox ahead of the summer transfer window after three successful seasons with the Premiership giants.

The midfielder is expected to feature for Belgium at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and Rangers could cash in on him for the right offer this summer.

Nicolas Raskin has been linked with a Rangers exit…

Chris Sutton feels Steven Naismith may have leaked Rangers transfer news

Raskin was notably left out of the Light Blues’ squad to face Celtic on Sunday, leading to speculation about a fallout with Danny Rohl.

While those claims have since been dismissed, Steven Naismith believes the Belgium international’s time at Rangers might be numbered.

The former Gers ace opined that the 25-year-old may seek a move away from the Glasgow giants after another disappointing season.

Speaking on The Warm-Up, Naismith said: “I think he [Raskin] would want to go. I think the way this season has been, he’d want to.”

Sutton was then quick to question the pundit after what he had heard about Raskin’s future behind the scenes.

He asked, “What have you heard then, because you’re well-connected?”

Naismith, though, denied having any intel on Raskin seeking a move away from Rangers.

He said, “No, I’m not [well-connected]. I just think it would suit everybody potentially if he goes to have a good World Cup.”

However, Sutton had no plans to let it slide, saying: “That’s a hell of a throwaway line that, ‘He wants to go’.”

Will Rangers re-sign Mikey Moore for the 2026/27 season?

Why Gers may cash in on Raskin

Raskin has been one of Rangers’ standout players in recent seasons, having racked up 13 goals and 23 assists in 145 appearances across competitions.

However, this summer could be the right time for the club and the player to part ways amicably.

The Belgian has two more years remaining on his contract at Ibrox, meaning the Light Blues should be able to pocket a significant amount of money in transfer fees.

The fee will only go up if he goes on to have a fruitful World Cup in North America this summer.

Rangers could then use that sum to strengthen their squad with at least two new players.

Meanwhile, it remains to be seen if they intend to stick with Rohl, who has left much to be desired in recent months despite impressing earlier on.
