Chris Jack has provided details on Derek McInnes’ first press conference after taking charge as the new Rangers boss.
After days of speculation, the Light Blues announced on Wednesday that Danny Rohl has left his position as their head coach to join Red Bull Salzburg, who paid £2million in compensation for the German.
Although Rangers already had a three-year deal in place for McInnes to replace Rohl, they allowed the dust to settle before announcing the Scottish tactician as their new boss later in the evening.
Eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice that the club are referring to McInnes as their ‘manager’, while his predecessor was a ‘head coach’, thus suggesting a greater role in the club’s operations for the new man.
What would your concerns be about Derek McInnes replacing Danny Rohl?
When will McInnes have his first press conference?
Rangers released a list of key dates for the summer on Thursday morning, but did not specify when the team will return to Auchenhowie for pre-season training.
On the club’s website, the Gers noted that the squad will report back for pre-season training ‘later this month’, as they begin preparations for the 2026-27 season.
Nevertheless, all eyes are now on McInnes, who is expected to hold his first press conference as the Rangers manager soon.

However, it will not be this week, according to Jack. The Rangers Review journalist reported that the 54-year-old is confirmed to address the media next week, although a date has yet to be confirmed.
This will likely depend on when the squad returns for pre-season training next week.
Now that Danny Rohl has left Rangers, how would you rate his time at the club?
Rangers await Scottish Premiership fixtures
While the transfer window opened on 15 June, the next big date on Rangers’ list is 18 June, when the Scottish Premiership fixtures for next season will be released, meaning they will be revealed this afternoon.
Meanwhile, the Ibrox club are also awaiting the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round draw, but that is on 20 July.
In the meantime, they can turn their attention to their transfer business, with McInnes now firmly in place.
Lawrence Shankland has already been brought in, but there are other priorities, including the signing of a right-back and a midfielder.
