Celtic legend Jackie McNamara has been slaughtered by members of Rangers’ media team for obtuse comments made about the Ibrox club’s finances.
McNamara had made comments to Football Insider about Rangers needing to sell players to fund investment in other positions.

But Rangers Head of Digital Content Robert Boyle was quick to call out McNamara and other news outlets who repeated the story.
It’s incredibly unlikely any Rangers fans have an interest in what Jackie McNamara has to say about Rangers’ finances.
And whatever it is, the former Celtic right-back is obviously going to be negative. But the fact he’s a former rival of Rangers doesn’t make him an expert on financial affairs.

As you can see above Football Scotland deleted the tweet containing the story. They’d rehashed it for shock appeal as negative stories surrounding rivals can do well on platforms.
But this is something that Robert Boyle finds particularly frustrating.
I think it’s fair to say Jackie McNamara has been successfully clamped by the Rangers media team.
Hopefully, it means that we stop seeing so many negative stories about Rangers with him in the title from here on in.
McNamara has been slagging off everything from Rangers “one-dimensional” midfield to Alfredo Morelos’ transfer valuation in recent weeks.
