Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen have announced a new deal for Marvin Ducksch amid exit links to Saudi and replacement links to Rangers star Antonio Colak.
The German side took to social media to announce the contract last week, the 29-year-old striker putting an end to speculation over his future this summer.
Reports in Germany had suggested that Werder Bremen were looking at Rangers striker Antonio Colak amid exit links surrounding Marvin Ducksch and strike partner Niclas Füllkrug.
Whilst there remains some questions over the future of Füllkrug, who wound up the Bundesliga’s joint-top scorer last season (16) and has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich, Ducksch has effectively ended any speculation on his future.
Marvin Ducksch had been linked with a £10.3m switch to Saudi but now looks set to stay at Werder Bremen with Rangers surely noting the situation given those links to Antonio Colak.
Werder Bremen linked to Antonio Colak again
The reports linking Bremen and Colak were also back this week when the Scottish Sun claimed the Ibrox side were getting ready to offload the German-born Croatia striker.
Rangers are said to be holding out for £2m for the striker and there are reportedly a range of options potentially on the table for the ex-Malmo hitman.
And it’s not just that new Marvin Ducksch deal which has dealt a blow to reports Werder Bremen could be set to move for Antonio Colak.

Bremen must sell to buy
The Bundesliga club’s head of football has admitted that the Germans do not have the money to snare any new recruits and will have to sell before they can buy.
“You see from the players who were offered here that their expectations are high,” Werder’s head of football Clemens Fritz tells the DeichStube podcast.
“One wonders whether people think that we fished a sack of money out of the Weser (river)!
“We have to keep looking at what we can do with the budget. We keep our eyes open in all positions. What can ultimately be implemented will be seen in the coming weeks.

“We are a club that also relies upon transfer income. If you don’t generate any transfer income this summer, then it’s immediately an issue for the new season.”
Rangers signed Antonio Colak from PAOK last summer, with the striker netting 18 goals in a relatively productive first season in Glasgow.
