Rangers have set a seven-figure asking price for Croatian striker Antonio Colak amid interest from Werder Bremen as Michael Beale looks to fund his squad rebuild.

According to the Scottish Sun, the 29-year-old striker, who was born in Germany, will be available for £2m this summer and is looks “certain” to leave Ibrox just one year on from his switch to Rangers last season.

Antonio Colak had a relatively productive season at Ibrox against a backdrop of unrelenting injuries across the squad, with the former PAOK and Malmo forward himself affected by issues.

Despite his 18 goals in all competitions, Rangers fans remain unconvinced by the player who, whilst a solid goalscorer, is not considered a realistic heir to the Ibrox throne of Alfredo Morelos, who left the club this summer.

According to the report, Michael Beale is happy to ship Antonio Colak out this summer with Werder Bremen topping a list of Bundesliga clubs interested in signing the Rangers star.

There is also interest credited to the American MLS, with claims that Michael Beale views the striker’s lack of pace and style of play not suitable for the direction the Rangers boss wants to take the team.

Antonio Colak to Werder Bremen, Danilo to Rangers?

Considered a popular player in the Rangers dressing room due to his application and attitude, Antonio Colak may well be about to fall victim of the Ibrox axe swinging this summer.

Rangers fans closely watching the situation will also keep in mind those Ibrox links to Feyenoord striker Danilo, as well the club’s signing of Cremonese forward Cyriel Dessers.

The arrival of Nigerian international Dessers has seemingly put the brakes on the club’s pursuit of Danilo with Rangers, whilst still interested, waiting to ship some players out before reinvesting.

With Antonio Colak the forward option most likely to be sold this summer one suspects that it’s a key domino to fall and should Werder Bremen make their interest concrete it’s likely Rangers will strike a deal.

Should that happen, perhaps Rangers will re-enter the market with Feyenoord forward Danilo – who is looking sharp in pre-season – seemingly first on the list.
