Rangers sanctioned a number of incoming loan deals over the summer and January transfer windows.

In the summer, the Ibrox giants negotiated three loan incomings in the form of Oscar Cortes, Vaclav Cerny and Neraysho Kasanwirjo.

While Rafael Fernandes became Rangers’ fourth loan arrival of the season when he joined from Lille in January.

But what about the Rangers stars who have been loaned out of the club, either to guarantee themselves more minutes or gain vital first-team experience?

Here are all the Rangers players currently out on loan for the 2024/25 season. Keep track of them all here across the campaign with Rangers News.

It’s clear for Jose Cifuentes that his Rangers career is effectively over. He has hardly kicked a ball under Philippe Clement having played with Cruzeiro on loan last season.

He’s now in Greece plying his trade on loan to Aris Thessaloniki where the Ecuadorian 25-year-old will remain until the end of the current campaign.

If he performs well enough, Aris can trigger the option to buy the midfielder from Rangers.

Ben Davies (Birmingham City)

Ben Davies wasn’t the most popular of players amongst the Ibrox faithful. Signed for £4m three years ago, he has spectacularly failed to live up to the hefty price tag.

The 29-year-old struggled to deal with the physicality of Scottish football and was unsure about whether he would get enough game time for Rangers this season.

As a result, Davies moved back down south to play with Birmingham City for the rest of 2024/25.

Rabbi Matondo was allowed to leave Rangers on loan to Hannover 96 in the January window. The Welshman started the season with two goals and two assists in four Premiership games.

But he suffered a nasty hamstring injury and that kept him sidelined for a significant period of time. Matondo made just two further league appearances for Rangers as his game time after his injury reduced.

The winger will spend the rest of the season in Germany and Hannover 96 hold the option to buy in the summer.

Kieran Dowell (Birmingham City)

Attacking midfielder Kieran Dowell found himself rooted to the bench for much of the first-half of the 2024/25 season for Rangers.

He started just three times and was subsequently granted to leave on loan in January. Dowell joined Birmingham City and links up with Rangers teammate Ben Davies.

Versatile left-sided defender Johnly Yfeko signed for Rangers in 2022 after spells in the youth system at both Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

He’s been a regular for Rangers B ever since but has moved back down south temporarily to gain first-team experience with Exeter City in EFL League One.

The Grecians hold an option to buy Yfeko in the summer.

Kieran Wright (Airdrieonians)

Another year, another temporary move for Kieran Wright. Now aged 25, the goalkeeper is currently out on loan for the ninth time in his career.

Remarkably, he’s been with Rangers since March 2016 but has never played a single competitive game for the first-team.

Wright will play with Airdrieonians in the Scottish Championship for the 2024/25 campaign after representing Livingston last season.

Robbie Fraser (Livingston)

Robbie Fraser played just 34 minutes of senior football for Rangers during the first half of the season. As a result, he was allowed to move on loan to Livingston in January.

Fraser will remain with the West Lothian outfit until the end of the season as they vie for promotion back to the Premiership.

Cole McKinnon (Ayr United)

Much like Fraser, Cole McKinnon wasn’t earning enough game time at Rangers this season. In fact, Philippe Clement did not even hand the midfielder a single competitive minute on the field.

He’s now playing under Scott Brown at Ayr United to help them with their promotion push in the Championship.
