Alfredo Morelos has provided an update on his Rangers’ future – and it could be positive news for Rangers fans.
The Colombian’s future at Ibrox has been the subject of much speculation this season. His 29 goals have unsurprisingly attracted interest from across Europe. The like of Dortmund [Sky Sports] and Eintracht Frankfurt [Daily Record] were said to be leading the charge for his signature.
Alfredo might’ve delighted fans by singing a new contract earlier in the month, but it’s did little to convince them he’s staying. And whilst his interview with Futbol Red isn’t confirmation he’ll be hanging around, it’s certainly confirmation he’s thinking about it.

“Things have been conducted in the best way,” Morelos explained to the Colombian media outlet.

“There are a lot of teams who have asked about me but I’m concentrating on Rangers and this opportunity with the national team which I must take advantage of, so that in the summer things can define themselves.
“Without doubt, right now, nothing is certain.”

Does Rangers future hinge on Colombia success?

Alfredo Morelos was called up to the Colombia squad for their upcoming matches with Japan and South Korea. The 22 year old striker was named alongside the likes of James Rodriguez and Falcao in a creative announcement video.

Colombia are gearing up for a Copa America in Brazil in the summer and Alfredo would obviously relish the opportunity to be involved.

If he can get into the Colombia side and is given reassurances of Rangers’ ambitions for next year, he could well be convinced his future lies at Ibrox.
For next season at least. In the long term, there’s little doubt Morelos will play at a higer level in his career.
