Rangers have released a new kit commemorating 125 years of Ibrox Stadium.

We told last night how a leak had shown the rumoured design of the new Gers strip to mark the anniversary of Ibrox.

And the club have this morning released it, the fourth strip to go on sale this season.

Named the ‘Ibrox 125 heritage kit’, tops are priced at £75 and are now available to buy online and in store.

Rangers reveal Ibrox 125 heritage kit

Rangers have shown the new kit off this morning with fans invited to get involved and purchase it.

It is a simple and classic plain blue design with white flashes on the collar and ends of the sleeves, with the earliest Rangers crest.

Below the badge is the tribute to the famous old ground, with ‘Ibrox Stadium 1899-2024′ written. And the socks feature the famous criss-cross balustrade.

Rangers used Barry Ferguson and Lee McCulloch to help release it and have teased that it will be worn on the pitch at some point in December.

Describing the strip and its release, the club said: “This special collection honours the legacy of our home by blending a timeless design with modern performance.

“Embroidered with our earliest scroll monogram crest, the design is instantly recognisable and a nod to the club’s heritage and passion.

“A subtle tribute of the 1899 – 2024 anniversary adheres below the crest, complemented with the addition of Archibald Leitch’s famous criss-cross balustrade on the socks. A design which sits across the mid-tier of the Bill Struth Stand.

“Be part of this historic milestone with this very limited-edition kit which will be worn on the pitch in December.”

Rangers fans react to new Ibrox tribute kit

Rangers fans generally seem to be in acknowledgement that the strip design is a smart one.

But many of them insist they will not be buying it while still disillusioned with how things are going on the pitch, with some even claiming it is a cash grab from the club.

One the positive end of the scale, some supporters wanted to simply point out how nice the kit is.

One said: “Far better than the home top.”

Another wrote: “Castore clinging on for dear life with this absolute belter,” while another added: “Absolute cracker.”

But others insist they will refuse to buy it due to their grievances.

One said: “It pains me to say it. Until this board is gone, I will not be buying anything. Do you as a fan trust this board with your hard earned cash?”

Another wrote: “More ways to rob the greatest supporters in the world. Disgraceful.”

Another fan said: “Another cash grab from fans whilst things on the pitch get worse. Good luck selling these.”

While another added: “Always round about this time of year a 4th kit is released. Money grabbers just treating us like customers.”
