Rangers continue their Premiership season on Saturday that is unfortunately petering out by the week.
Hibs will be the opponents at Ibrox and if we’re in for anything similar to the previous meeting at Easter Road which ended 3-3, fans are in for a treat.
Well, certainly the travelling Hibs supporters, because the last thing the home crowd and Barry Ferguson want is another game where too many goals are conceded.
Rangers have been vulnerable at the back in recent games, something that was a problem under Philippe Clement and continues to be with Ferguson at the helm.
Neil McCann said Rangers must improve defensively and admits the interim coaching staff must do everything to try and ‘eradicate’ silly errors.
Because if they don’t buck up their ideas against a potent Hibs attack this weekend, Rangers face matching a record that has stood for 131 years.

Rangers could match daunting 131-year-old record
Between December 1893 and April 1894 during just the fourth season of league football in Scotland, Rangers conceded at least two goals in six consecutive Division One games.
| Date | Division One Result |
| December 23, 1893 | Rangers 0-3 Third Lanark |
| January 20, 1894 | Dumbarton 2-0 Rangers |
| January 27, 1894 | St Mirren 2-2 Rangers |
| February 24, 1894 | Celtic 3-2 Rangers |
| March 10, 1894 | Rangers 7-2 Dundee |
| April 14, 1894 | Rangers 1-2 Hearts |
In the 131 years that have followed, never has that been repeated. However, Rangers are currently on a streak of conceding at least two goals in their previous five Premiership clashes.
If Hibs score twice on Saturday, no matter the outcome of the encounter, this Light Blues team will statistically go down as one of the worst in the club’s history.

Gemma Fay points finger at full Rangers XI for defensive issues
The daunting fact was unearthed by the BBC’s Scottish Football Podcast host Andrew Petrie, who then asked pundit Gemma Fay how Barry Ferguson can fix his side’s defensive problems.
Former goalkeeper Fay, Scotland’s most capped international player, was also quizzed on Jack Butland and whether he is to blame.
She replied: “I’m just still getting through all those numbers you just chucked at me!
“So you’re saying they keep conceding goals and they should stop doing that? You can look at the defence, but you can also look at the whole team and how they transition into defence, because at times I think that’s where they lack a little bit.
“If you listen to Barry Ferguson’s comments after the match, his comment was ‘in the first-half, we were nowhere near it.’ That’s not specifically one player, that’s the whole team.
“Yes, Jack Butland has struggled a little bit in some games. I think what he’s done previously for Rangers, he’s got money in the bank there, which is the reason why they’re maintaining him in that position.
“Look, Jack Butland is their No.1 and I think he’ll remain their No.1 unless there’s something that is blatantly obvious that he’s done wrong which has cost Rangers, because I don’t think it’s all down to Jack Butland at this moment in time.”
