Rangers attacker Andreas Skov Olsen made the headlines for what happened in the 4-2 win over Hearts on Sunday.

Rangers beat Hearts to narrow the gap at the top of the SPFL table to just two points, and Youssef Chermiti bagged a hat-trick to silence his critics.

Skov Olsen, a January signing, was handed a start by Danny Rohl, and he was involved in a much-debated incident during the game.

Ewen Cameron initially wanted Andreas Skov Olsen sent off

STV host Ewen Cameron took to X as he shared footage of Skov Olsen diving in the second half of the Hearts game at Ibrox.

At the time, he felt that the Denmark international dived outside the penalty area to earn a free kick from a promising position.

As the 26-year-old got booked for simulation in the first half, Cameron was of the view that another dive in the second 45 minutes should have been enough for him to get his marching orders.

However, credit where due, he came out the following day, sharing another angle of the incident that disproved his assertion.

He believes, after reviewing the new footage, that Skov Olsen was touched by Islam Chesnokov and that it was not a dive.

He wrote on X: “AN APOLOGY – Skov Olsen ‘dive’

“I said he should have got two yellow cards for ‘diving’ and sent off.

“This new angle shows there was the slightest of touches and, in my opinion, that’s not a yellow card but it’s not a penalty either.”

Will Skov Olsen start for Rangers against Livingston?

Skov Olsen started as the right-sided number 10 in Rohl’s 4-2-2-2 system against Hearts.

There is a chance that against Livingston, the German reverts to a 4-2-3-1 system, and even if he does not, he would want to start the Danish attacker.

While he may have received a yellow card, Skov Olsen did well in possession in tight spaces on Sunday.

Not only did he provide an assist, but he also played three key passes, and his vision is something that would come in handy against teams that like to sit deep and compact.

The Ibrox outfit desperately need to win against Livingston on Sunday, and if results elsewhere go their way, they could end the weekend at the top of the table again.
