Rangers can close the gap on Celtic to 13 points tonight if they manage to overcome an out-of-sorts Aberdeen side in the Premiership.

The Hoops stumbled against Dundee on Tuesday evening as Tony Docherty’s side earned a fantastic point after a thrilling 3-3 draw.

It was only the third time this season where Celtic dropped points in the league. But unfortunately in these scenarios, Rangers have struggled to capitalise.

The 3-0 Old Firm victory is a stellar example as the Light Blues followed that brilliant win up with two draws against Hibs and Dundee.

So amid fan anger over the board’s backing of Philippe Clement, can Rangers buck the trend and win after Celtic drop points? They should have a good chance against Aberdeen at Ibrox, who are winless in 10 league games.

Jimmy Thelin’s outfit can’t buy a result at the moment and they last tasted victory on November 9, just a week after beating Rangers 2-1 at Pittodrie.
