It’s fair to say that the Rangers fans loved Devlin’s performance as he impacted the game positively and was even named the Man of the Match.
Most supporters now want him to be starting the first game of the season against Dundee United on 31 July.
They were impressed with his work-rate, tackling ability and also how he communicated with the players around him.

How did Rangers News feel about Devlin’s performance?
While this may only be a pre-season game, it was hard to find a single issue with the midfielder’s performance on Wednesday evening.
Devlin did not start the game, and that actually may have worked to his favour, as there was a stark difference in the second half, with him coming on during the break.

St Etienne were winning the midfield battle and easily progressing the ball through the thirds.
However, with Devlin on the pitch, they struggled to even have lengthy spells of possession as he won the ball back efficiently and kick-started a number of counter-attacks.
He helped Rangers control the game better too, and has sent a message that he is here to prove that he is much more than a squad player.
