Derek McInnes guided his Rangers side to a 2-1 victory against St Etienne at Ibrox in a pre-season friendly on Thursday.
Lawrence Shankland and Thelo Aasgaard scored the goals for the hosts from the penalty spot to give them a well-deserved victory against the French side.
After a tricky first half, the Light Blues grew into the contest and picked up a morale-boosting win.

McInnes was applauded by the Rangers fans as he walked onto the Ibrox pitch ahead of the St Etienne clash.
The supporters had plenty of nervous moments last season and did not seem to be fully in favour of Danny Rohl staying.
Many wanted McInnes to be hired before the German left, but following his departure, there was just one man Andrew Cavenagh wanted.
As far as early impressions go, the 55-year-old did a good job as he made important changes at half-time, especially by bringing on Cammy Devlin, to change the tempo of the game in favour of the home side.
He also waved back and applauded the fans, and hopefully, this is the start of something positive at Ibrox.

McInnes will be delighted that Shankland found the back of the net from the penalty spot, and he’s likely to be the first-choice taker going into the new season.
For years, James Tavernier was the designated penalty taker, but with him no longer at the club, the responsibility could fall on the number 7’s shoulders.
There clearly remain issues on the defensive side of things, and that needs to be addressed quickly.
While it was only a pre-season game, they will want to show more energy and be more aggressive in their efforts to win the ball.
Things will certainly get better, but it is evident that more first-team signings are needed through the door sooner rather than later.
