Rangers huffed and puffed against St Johnstone, the effort was there but Cyriel Dessers as man of the match probably summed up the display as well as anyone.
The summer signing scored the opening goal and won a penalty but, on another night, could easily have scored a few more as Rangers News highest rated player.
With Kemar Roofe looking like he is injured again after storming up the Ibrox tunnel, Rangers will need to hope that Cyriel Dessers can continue his recent form.

Rangers now have consistent match winner in Cyriel Dessers
It maybe isn’t much but, the 29-year old is finally starting to look a bit of a handful for opposition defences, five league goals in seven league games backs this up.
Gers manager Philippe Clement will be a relieved man to have seen the Nigerian capitalise on our early pressure but his options are even more limited now.
What Cyriel Dessers did with his performance though, is prove that he might yet me a valuable member of this Rangers squad.
Having the two wide players either side of him is definitely helping for a start.
He seems to know when to drop and link play and also, when to not get involved and look for space in the box instead.
There were also a few occasions where runs that he made were picked out and either the St Johnstone keeper had to make a save or the ball didn’t quite stick, close but no cigar, for want of a better phrase.
He drew two fine saves in particular from Dimitar Mitov, one shooting low to the keepers left with his right foot and another high to his left, off his left foot.
Being picky, these are the two chances, given his central location, that he perhaps should have done more with.
Although he deserves credit for the way that he didn’t rush the one he had in the second half, patience allowed the opportunity to open up, his confidence appears to be growing.
But, like Rangers in general, Cyriel Dessers has to get more clinical, if he does, we will both be just fine.
